Privacy Policy
This policy describes what Hekaya collects when you create a personalized storybook, and what we do with it.

What we collect
The details you give us to build the book: your child's first name, age, the things they love, any supporting characters you add, and the photographs you upload. When you send an order request we also collect your name and a phone number for every order, and a delivery address for a printed book. An email address is optional.
Photographs
Photographs are used to illustrate your child's storybook character and to produce your book. They are not used for advertising and are not sold.
Children's data
Hekaya is bought by adults. If you are not the child's parent or guardian, please make sure you have their permission before uploading a photograph.
Contacting you about an order
Your phone number is how we reach you about your book — by call or on WhatsApp — so we ask for it on both the digital and the printed book. We ask for your permission to do that as a separate tick box when you send your request. It is never implied by the permission you give for your child's photo, and we do not use your number for marketing.
Payment
We do not take payment on this site. Nothing is charged here, we never ask for card details, and there is no payment processor involved. Payment is arranged directly with you and settled in cash.
How long we keep things
The photograph you upload is deleted a short time after the book is finished; the illustrations we drew from it are kept. Your name, phone number, email address and delivery address are deleted 30 days after your book has been delivered. You can also delete a story and everything made from it at any time from its preview page.
Your choices
You can ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by contacting us.
